PDFly

About Us

PDFly is a free online toolkit for working with PDF files — merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing and more. It runs in your browser, needs no account, and costs nothing to use.

Who we are

We are a small independent team of software engineers. We are not a large company, we have no sales department, and nobody here will ever call you.

PDFly grew out of a problem we kept running into ourselves. PDF is the format everyone sends and nobody can edit. The desktop software that handles it properly is expensive; the free websites that handle it tend to be plastered in fake download buttons, cap you at two files a day, or stamp a watermark across the result. We wanted a set of tools that simply did the job, so we built one and left it open to everybody.

What we offer

More than twenty-five working tools, grouped by what you are trying to do:

  • Organise — merge several PDFs into one, split one into many, remove or extract specific pages, reorder pages, rotate.
  • Optimise — compress a file down to a sensible size, repair a damaged PDF, run OCR so a scan becomes searchable text.
  • Convert to PDF — from Word, PowerPoint, Excel, JPG or an HTML page.
  • Convert from PDF — to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, JPG, Markdown, or archival PDF/A.
  • Edit — add page numbers, apply a watermark, crop.
  • Security — password-protect a file, unlock one you have the password for, redact sensitive text, sign a document, and compare two versions.

A few more tools are listed in the menu while we finish them. Where that is the case the page says so rather than pretending to work.

What happens to your files

This is the question that matters most on a site like this, so here is the exact answer.

Many of our tools never send your file anywhere at all — they run entirely inside your browser using your own machine’s processing power. Tools that genuinely cannot work that way, such as OCR or converting a Word document, upload the file to our server, process it, and hand the result back.

For those, every uploaded file and every generated result is deleted automatically two hours after the job. That deletion is run by the server on a schedule; it does not depend on you clicking anything. We do not read your documents, we do not index them, we do not use them to train anything, and we never pass them to a third party.

Download links are tied to a short-lived token, so a link that leaks after the fact is useless to whoever finds it.

How we pay for it

PDFly is free to use. Servers that run OCR and document conversion are not free to keep running, and that cost is covered by advertising.

We work with Google AdSense and other third-party advertising vendors. These vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and to other sites on the internet. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.

Advertising never touches your documents. Ad code cannot reach the files you are working on, we do not sell or share anything you upload, and no advertiser has any say in how a tool behaves or what this site says.

Contact us

A person reads everything that arrives at this address:

Email: support@regulad.com

We aim to reply within two business days. Bug reports, a file that would not convert, a tool you would like us to add, privacy questions, advertising and press enquiries all go to the same place. If you are reporting a failure, telling us which tool you used and roughly how big the file was is usually enough for us to reproduce it.

PDFly is operated by Regulad Co., Ltd., Caugiay, Hanoi, Vietnam. You can also reach us by phone on +84 70 205 8270, though email is the channel we can answer most thoroughly. More ways to get in touch are on our contact page.
